SOUTH BEACH. A co-op featuring artists in a number of different workspaces and galleries. Most of the artists use the space on Lincoln Mall for their studio and gallery. Some classes are also held here. You'll find a wonderful collection of new art, mostly contemporary, from the artists working in every medium. You can watch the artists at work or browse in one of the many galleries located throughout the complex. NB All sales are negotiated through the artists; they can tell you during transactions what credit cards they take.

NORTH MIAMI. This arts-community gathering place offers plenty of room for exhibitions, sales, classes and meetings. More than 150 artists from around the country and the world have ties here, and the center reaches out to students in the area, involving them in a variety of arts projects. The name stems from the building's former life as a bakery, but now it is the largest "working artists' colony" in South Florida. A great place to meet local artists and pick up a unique piece. All sales are done through the artists.

SOUTH BEACH. Housed inside the popular Lincoln Road Mall, this gallery features the works of Romero Britto, whose colorful palette and bold shapes are the embodiment of South Beach style. His vividly painted cows have caught a lot of attention, as have his whimsical, Cubist-influenced portraits of people. A favorite among collectors, a Britto painting will liven up any room. Or just browse around the gallery and your spirits will surely be lifted.
